During the removal and disposal of objects containing artificial mineral fibres (AMF) or asbestos specific safety measures are required in order to protect humans and the environment. The fibres and fibre dusts released during such processes require particular monitoring.
The Technical Rules for Hazardous Substances (TRGS) 519 include technical and organisational measures that have to be observed while working with artificial mineral fibres, also during removal and diposal of the waste.
The TRGS 521 describes technical and organisational measures relating to removal and disposal of artificial mineral fibres.
The artificial mineral fibres are generally used as insulation material to protect against noise, heat and fire, e. g.
• facades
• interior walls / walls made of lightweight construction panels
• acoustic ceilings
• floors in roof extensions
• sound insulation
• plaster containing mineral fibres
• heat insulation in roller shutter boxes
• pipe insulations
• sprayed insulation
